Basement Slab Leveling

The soil in the Kansas City and St. Louis area is mostly made up of expansive soil. This type of soil expands when it is wet and shrinks when it is dry. Because of this constant shifting of the soil, the foundation of your home or business also shifts and the basement can sink into the voids created by this shifting soil.

You may have signs that this is occurring as the moving soil can cause your basement slab to be unlevel.

Some of the signs that your basement slab has shifted and settled include:

  • Sloping floors
  • Leaning chimney
  • Doors and windows that stick
  • Floor, wall, and ceiling cracks
  • Cracks in brick or concrete stairs

If you notice any of these signs that your basement slab has shifted or settled, it is important to contact Polyjacking.com.

Basement Slab Leveling Solutions

Basement slab leveling in Kansas City and St. LouisThe method of polyjacking is the injection of high-density polyurethane foam under the slab that needs to be lifted and leveled. The polyurethane foam expands to fill the voids and the basement slab is lifted and leveled to its original level.

The polyjacking application is relatively simple. We use reliable polyurethane trucks and the right equipment to make the installation process quick and easy.

Polyjacking Process

  1. A small 5/8" hole is drilled into the affected area of the basement slab.
  2. High-density polyurethane foam is injected into the hole.
  3. The foam expands to fill the entire void.
  4. As the foam expands, the basement slab is lifted and stabilized.
  5. The holes are filled and the site is cleaned up.
  6. Due to the fast curing time, the basement slab is ready for use about 15 minutes after the repair is completed.
  7. Polyurethane is water-resistant so it will hold up for years to come

Don't let your sinking basement slab be ignored. The longer you wait to get the repair done, the more damage that will occur not only to the basement slab, but throughout the entire commercial or residential structure.
